As I stood on the tee for the 17th hole at Vista Valencia, trying to decide whether to hit short of the island or splash with a hook or a slice, I was reminded of a friend of mine who had an even worst round punctuated by lost balls, every known hazard known to man and a series of chili dips and sliced chips. As he looked out toward the same island, he asked his playing partner if he could just go drown himself in the lake. Without missing a beat, his partner said, “You could never drown, you couldn’t keep your head down long enough.”
As summer approaches and vacations, travel, and family are a new part of our routines it is especially important to send in your tournament sign-ups and checks.
