Club History
The Vista Valencia Senior Men's Golf Club began in 1990. Dick Warrenbrock ran an ad in the Signal to see if there was interest in organizing a senior golf club. He received over 300 responses and our senior club was born.
This is a group of men ranging in age from 55 to the 90's who truly enjoy the game of golf in an informal and fun atmosphere with a touch of competition mixed in. Our tournaments are set up in flights according to handicaps, so you can be competitive whether your handicap is 3 or the maximum 54. Also, our Event Directors make every effort to accommodate requests to play with specific people and/or handicaps.
We have 12 official events a year at Vista, plus eight to ten away events. Some of the away events in the past have included Olivas Links, River Ridge, Sand Canyon, Buenaventura, and many more.
For new members joining after October 1st, membership fees will include the following year.

Membership
We currently have a membership of over 85 members. This varies from year to year.
Membership starts at age 55 with our oldest members in their 90's. Yearly dues are $70. This includes membership in the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA).
Club Championship
Our Club's Championship is a two round event occurring in September and October.

The Home Course
The Vista Course is an executive course of 4064 yds. from the white tees, with a rating of 59.7/101. Par 61. Don't let the yardage fool you as the greens are tricky and require a good eye and steady hand.
Events
Our Vista events are held on the third Thursday of each month. The current cost is $50 which includes green fees, golf carts, a limited menu lunch and prize money. There is an optional $5 cost for Super Seniors (75 or older) for closest-to-the-pin awards on six holes. This is in addition to our regular eight closest-to-the-pin awards. One good shot by a Super Senior can win both prizes.
Away events are scheduled by the Away Event Director with costs varying based on the course played. We usually have six to eight away tournaments each year.
Inter Club Play
Our club has joined with the Knollwood, De Bell and Buenaventura Senior Men's Clubs for six match events each year. The winner takes home the perpetual trophy and has bragging rights for the year. Information and entry forms are available for those who wish to participate.
Business Meetings
In November we celebrate our golf club at our annual meeting. It is a must for all members who love golf, camaraderie, and good food. The day begins with a four-man scramble event. Immediately following the event is our luncheon/business meeting, presentation of the Club Champion, Flight Champions', and Senior Cup trophies and assorted prize money. Lastly, we present and ratify our Board of Directors for the coming year.
